Elegant pineapple pendant. Great for everyday wear, or as a gift!
The pineapple was first introduced to Europe when Christopher Columbus brought it back from the “New World” in 1493. For 200 years afterwards, it could only be obtained from the far away tropical colonies. Thus, when presented to guests, the rare and expensive pineapple became a symbol of great generosity, hospitality, and welcome. It has remained as just such a symbol to this day, and for years Hawaii was the world’s largest producer of canned pineapples.
